Good morning shipmates:
A nice and understanding response to my decision to take Navy Storekeeper.com offline and provide the information to other sources to continue providing our sailors direction, advice, and tips on their navy advancement exam studies. Your thoughts, prayers, and kind words are truly appreciated as well. And not a worry -- this old Senior Chief is not giving up yet!
As a matter of fact -- GOOD LUCK to all our active duty sailors participating in the March 2008 exam cycle....First Class Petty Officer tomorrow, Second Class Petty Officer next week, and Third Class Petty Officer the following week. I know you have been studying hard, take a relaxing night the evening prior to the exam, and go get 'em!
Although, currently, all treatment options have been exhausted, my wife and I have options if a successful, and clear, Brain MRI results come out in 2 weeks. So hope never ends....neither do family and friends who are there every single day for us. How can you not love that?
Right now, I am pretty limber, feeling a little fatigued, but otherwise, each day is a blessing. Demetria and I do not dwell on this each and every day. It would be useless. Matter of fact, we have plenty to do each day, and my wife is one awesome cook! She even changed a famous recipe by Chef Wolfgang Puck the other day --- trust me, her's was better! Got an extra 4 pounds on my frame!
So have a great day, shipmates, and of course, your emails of support have been heartfelt and appreciated.

Hello, Senior Chief:
Just today I learned about your unofficial Navy website http://www.navystorekeeper.com/ from a young storekeeper who I stumbled across as he was referring to it while studying for his promotion exam here in the Navy Yard.
I was duly impressed with the thoroughness of the site and also thankful that someone, beside me, was bringing LIFELines to the attention of our Sailors. We work very hard to pack the site with as much useful information as possible for our Sailors, Marines and their families to help improve the quality of their lives and we like as many people to be aware of this treasure trove as possible.
At the same time, I was saddened to hear that you are taking the site offline at the end of this month, especially for the reason you outlined on the front page. I am a double cancer survivor. Six years ago I was diagnosed with Stage 1 prostate cancer, and six months later with Stage 1 lung cancer [brought on by years of smoking and exposure to Agent Orange while a young hard charging Marine corporal in Vietnam].
While not as advanced as your cancer, it has been a struggle, so my heart and prayers go out to you as you fight to overcome your condition. You can make it! You will make it!
All the very best to you and your family, and thank you for what you have done to help your shipmates. It's because of people like you that I left the Marine Corps and came over to the Navy!
God bless you, shipmate,

Hello Senior Chief:
I have been the MU rating editor for more than a year now and all I can say is that I am grateful for all the work you put in updating this site for all sailors. Now you have to take care of yourself and I know most sailors just like me understand what you are going through and wish you and your family nothing but blessings. Again, Thanks for everything and God Bless You!
Sincerely,

Hello Senior,
Thank you so much for the time and dedication that you put into this website. There is no other like it!! It truly helped me and my shipmates. I also want to say that I hope that you become stronger with your continued treatment.
Hello Senior Chief,
Although I'm not in the Navy, I support the Navy as a contractor on a Naval Base. I found storekeepers via Google, favorited it, and use it constantly as a valuable source of knowledge (I write technical manuals for the Navy). God bless you in your hardest battle. I will certainly miss storekeepers, and want to thank you for making my job a little easier. I also want to thank you for your service to our country.

Senior,
I can tell you I found this site by accident looking for other study material for my First Class exam. This site was a tremendous help with the PMK part of the exam. I have since advanced to E-6 and I passed this on to other members in my unit. I'm sorry to see this site taken down, but maintaining your health is more important. Thanks for your time and dedication and best of luck to you.
